Final Project: The Art of Tattoos

I changed my topic from “The salaries of NBA players and coaches” to “The Art of Tattoos.” As I was doing the first topic, I realized that it wasn’t interesting or creative to do research on. I picked “The salaries of NBA players and coaches” because I wanted to major in business and basketball is one of my favorite hobbies. So instead, I used my deeper thinking and thought to myself that maybe I don’t want to major in business anymore? I hate math. Since I’m in a Creativity and Social Change cluster, I decided to research more on art and the meaning of it. I didn’t want to do theatre, dance or criminal justice because I’m learning those subjects this year; I want to do research on my own. First thing I thought about was visual art. I wanted to connect visual art to creativity, so i thought about Tattoos. I believe that tattoos are an art form to express yourself. In my opinion, the tattoo you get should have a real meaning. I’ve been through a lot in my life, some good and some bad, but in the future I might forget these events that impacted my life. Soon, I’m getting a tattoo of some of my family member’s faces on my body who passed away to symbolize my love for them and how I will always remember them. At first, I just wanted to get their names but I feel their faces will be more unique. The reason why I picked the art of tattoos is because some people get “useless” tattoos and don’t know where it came from. There’s more meaning to pictures and ink on skin.

Here is a video I found on Youtube about Tattoos.
